Well it is time to say goodbye, adieu, arrivederci, ciao, aloha, au revoir, auf Wiedersehen to the Unitd States. At least for a while. 

My trip has been amazing in so many ways. I’ve seen so many places and met so many different people. Some I know I won’t see again but some I hope to meet again at some time.  That’s what I love about travelling, it opens up so many possibilities. I have met people from all walks of life and from many different countries. Some I have even met twice.  Travelling is such a small world, I met an Australian girl first in New Orleans and then again in New York where I was greeted with ‘I know your face from somewhere’.  I also met another Aussie in New York and then again in Miami even though we hadn’t co-ordinated our travel plans. We sat chatting in the lobby of the hostel while I was waiting for my shuttle to take me to the airport and he was waiting to book in to the hostel. 

The world is made up of many random encounters. I love it. 

I have also eaten food I never would have previously and done activities for the first time. So this was a trip full of firsts for  me.   Another first was travelling by myself and for 6 weeks. I have never done anything like this before and now I would hesitate doing it again. 

I feel I have really grow as a person because of the trip. I know it is a cliche but travelling to different places and experiencing many different things really opens up a person, helps stop prejudice and a few other things I am not mentioning at the moment. For me, I feel stronger, more confident, more open to new things and I am more willing to be engaging with people. I haven’t stopped being completely shy and slightly withdrawn. But it is a step in the right direction 😃. 

Right now I am strapped in a small seat over the wing of a plane (another first for me) and being hurtled homewards bound (via Toronto and an airport stop) at some ridiculous speed. With me I take the experiences gained, memories, new friends, many many photos and videos take and a few souvenirs. 

I’m definitely going to do this again
