Am so excited, I finally feel that things are slotting in place.
I have posted my first model call on Facebook. I chose Facebook as I am a member of a few groups which include photographers of varying levels and aspiring and accredited models. All of which are looking to trade TFP (time for pictures), a very common portfolio practice.
So…. I decided to be brave and post a model call so I could complete a photography assignment.
Then the waiting game commenced. Very. nerve racking and not helped by the fact that the group had to authorise my posts.
Luckily they were authorised and I got a few responses πππ
I am trying to prepare for the shoot by having a dialogue with the models in regards to the shoot. Detailing the theme, what to expect, whether it is a styled shoot or not.
I’ve also sent a model release for her to sign. This just makes sure everyone knows their roles and responsibilities as well as what their entitlement is as well.
Saves a lot of bother later on
Now waiting again for a reply. Seems to be a lot of waiting πππ
Will let you know how it goes.
I’ve also scouted the location to check if can get correct exposure, what type of lense to use as a very narrow alleyway.
On another note business cards have arrived.
Ordered from Vistaprint. Extremely good detail and quite cheap. Definitely worth having.
I have already networked unexpectedly today at a work training day. Spoke to a fellow member of a course I am doing. Found out her brother and herself do flower arrangements. Her brother is also opening a fashion label tomorrow and is putting on a show. With new models. She offered to give them some of my business cards in case they want pictures.
How amazing is that!!!!!
Have a look and let me know what you think.
Here’s to Thursday!!! π
